Followed by Pengaturan Wingit 2: Miss K (2024)
Raina’s life was threatened after she opened the door and entered an unnumbered room in the hotel run by her sister, Fey. The figure of a woman with white hair and skin made her presence known.. Taken from The True Story of a Haunted Hotel in Semarang with the Initial “S”..
Seeing no problem with this instruction, she agrees and starts her first day at work
This film is essentially set in Indonesia with a woman named “Ningrum”; (Hami Diah) takes a job as a housekeeper at a hotel not too far from Jakarta. On her first day, she is told that the 3rd floor is under construction and to avoid it at all costs. Then, to her surprise, she hears a noise that sounds like a woman crying – and it’s coming from a room on the 3rd floor.
Of course, being somewhat curious, she immediately goes to investigate
Then, upon entering the room where the sound seems to be coming from, she stares in horror at an extremely pale, white-haired woman who, after muttering some strange words to her, sends her running from the room in terror. Sure enough, three days later she is killed by an unseen entity in the middle of the night. The scene then changes to a woman named “Raina”; (Luna Maya) has been led to a hotel she has just inherited from her father.
When they arrive there, she is greeted by her in-laws who have been looking after the place for several years
Traveling with her is her pre-teen daughter, “Fey”; (Bianca Bună) who is looking forward to starting a new life in this exotic location. And like everyone else who comes to this hotel, I tell him to avoid the 3rd floor at all costs. Unfortunately, it’s not long before he hears what sounds like a woman crying from one of the rooms on that floor – and then the horror begins again.
And while the acting was adequate, what let the film down, to a certain extent, was its rather predictable plot and unsatisfying ending
Now, rather than give away more, I’ll just say that this was an okay horror film, which benefited primarily from the dark atmosphere and beautiful scenery. That said, while it’s certainly not a great horror film, it still held my attention for the most part and I rated it accordingly. Average.
